KCC Presidential Search Public Forum

By; Ryan Brown

Following
a successful five year run as President of Klamath Community College, Gerald
Hamilton has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2012. Hamilton’s
tenure as KCC president came during a period of unprecedented growth, as
enrollment has increased by approximately 70 percent over that time. Hamilton
also oversaw a recently-completed construction project that added three new
buildings to campus, nearly doubling the square footage of facilities at KCC.
The college will begin the search for a replacement with a public forum from
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
The Klamath Community College Board of Education would like to extend an
invitation to community members to attend the forum, which will be held in the
Boardroom (Building 3, Room 310) at Klamath Community College, 7390 S 6th Street. Members of the
community are invited to share their thoughts on the selection of a new
president and suggest skills and traits they believe the next president should
possess in order to be successful and be a good fit for the community. Comments
will be limited to three minutes each.
If a person with a disability is in need of assistance in order to
attend or participate in the meeting, please notify Dawn McLing at 541-882-3521
within 24 hours of the meeting.
