A suspect, identified as Teal Blue Gentry, is currently holed up in his home in Sprague River, OR shooting at police.
Details are still coming in as the situation is ongoing, but what we learned this morning from Klamath County Sheriff, Frank Skrah is that one person was stabbed by the suspect and flown to Sky Lakes hospital, and another is deceased in the driveway of the home. The cause of death is undetermined at this point because law enforcement is unable to approach the body of the deceased victim due to gunfire from the suspect.
"It's like a war zone out here". said Sheriff Skrah. He added, "I immediately came under fire when I arrived, and could hear the tinking sound of bullets bouncing off my patrol car." Skrah said he doesn't know if his vehicle is damaged because he immediately took cover to avoid being shot by the suspect.
According to Skrah, Sgt. Steve Lewis had the windshield shot out of his patrol car and another Deputy had the side window shot out of his. So far, no Law Enforcement Officers have been injured.
Skrah said he has placed the community of Sprague River on lock down, asking residents to remain in their homes until they have resolved this "very dangerous" situation. According to Skrah they have a perimeter established that is about 4 miles wide.
Skrah said, "we have tactical units out here from my office, Jackson County, Oregon State Police, and the city of Klamath Falls." Adding, "We have about 50 Law Enforcement personnel on the scene right now."
Initial reports indicate a dispute between the suspect and his girlfriend somehow triggered the events.
